From "Death Insurance" to "Life Insurance": Why I Won't Quit

So here I am, diving deeper into the insurance industry. Lately, I’ve been focusing my research on three specific types of coverage: Life, Disability, and Group Insurance.
I recently attended a seminar that highlighted a harsh reality: Disability insurance usually stops protecting you at age 65, leaving you to rely on Medicare or Medicaid. Furthermore, your Group insurance at work is only yours as long as you are on the payroll.
The Shift in Thinking
Why do individuals actually buy insurance? It comes down to Income Replacement.
If I pass away, my income disappears, but the mortgage and the bills stay. Years ago, my husband and I bought a standard 30-year Term policy. It was designed to pay off the house loan if one of us died.
But the industry has evolved, and so has my understanding. With Living Benefits, whether you have Term or Permanent insurance, you have options. If you become chronically, critically, or terminally ill, you can access your death benefit to cover your bills while you are still alive.
Why I Keep Going
I am currently prospecting for people to join my team. To be honest, I get a lot of rejections. With the two previous insurance companies I was associated with, the rejections were enough to make me stop.
But not this time. I am going to continue. I am pushing through the rejections because my "Why" is stronger than their "No."
The Reality of Loss
For over 20 years, my family had no deaths. That changed in 2022.
July: We lost my Grandma.
September: I lost my Brother.
January: I lost my Uncle.
Summer: Another Uncle and a Cousin passed away.
We are thankfully at a pause right now. But looking back, each of those losses required the family to come together and take up a collection to pay for the burials. We were fortunate that we didn't have to resort to a GoFundMe, but the financial strain was undeniable.
The Bottom Line
I realized that for a small monthly amount, you can allow your family to "save face" during a crisis. You can grieve without worrying about the bill.
That is why I share this. That is why I recruit. Because I want every family to have the dignity of being protected.
